INTRODUCTION :- C.S.T. Dalhousie is situated in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh approximately 80 kms. from Pathankot and nearly (3) hours journey by taxi from Dharamsala. It was established in May 1963. The school is one of the oldest Tibetan schools under the Central Tibetan Schools Administration, (CTSA) Ministry of Human Resource Development (Govt. of India), New Delhi. Since its inception, hundreds of students have graduated from this school and many of its former students continue to serve at responsible positions within the larger Tibetan community.
Presently, the school has classes from KG to 12th standard with around 232 students. Out of them, 163 students are boarders and 69 students are day scholars, including 64 Indian students. Most students at the school come from remote places of India like Miao, Tezu, Tuting, Bomdila, Bandra, Mainpat, Saranpur, Bir, Zansker, Ladakh, Kinnour, Spiti, etc.
There are 35 staff members including teaching and non-teaching regular staff. In addition, there are 12 contingency staff in the school. The school enjoys a good reputation within the local Indian and Tibetan community.
School Infrastructure: Spread over a sprawling area of 11,82869 Acre (4.769 Hectare) in middle of Bakrota Dalhousie, the school infrastructure includes spacious separate dormitories for senior boys and girls, and for junior students; a dispensary with a sick room, a kitchen, well furnished classrooms, administrative buildings and a school canteen.
The school also maintains well-equipped academic facilities to aid in the learning and overall personality development of students. Such amenities include a computer lab, a language lab, a senior science lab, Dance/Music Dept., resource centre, career and guidance cell, Mathematics lab, library etc.
In the recent CBSE and AISSE / AISSCE Examinations of 2012, the pass percentage of both the class X and class XII was 100. Moreover, the discipline and cleanliness of the whole school has further improved in the recent times. This year, one member of the school staff has received 25 Years Service Award conferred by DOE, Dharamsala in recognition of his service for the education of Tibetan children.
The current Principal Mr. V.K. Singh joined the school on 08/07/11. Mr.Yeshi Tenzin has been the school Rector since 07/09/10 for the last two years.

PROMOTION AND PRESERVATION OF TIBETAN CULTURE:
All possible sustained efforts are being made on the part of the school administration to promote and preserve the Tibetan culture of students. Various cultural activities and prayer sessions in school and hostel are being organized as per calendar prepared by school for the promotion of the cultural heritage of students.
ACHIEVEMENTS RECORD OF THE PAST YEARS: This school has won the PRIME MINISTER’S SHIELD COMPETITION IN RECOGNITION OF THE SERVICES RENDERED BY CENTRAL TIBETAN SCHOOL BY CST DALHOUSIE SCOUT TROOP The Bharat scouts and Guides India. (enclosed With certificate copy).

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE STUDENTS IN CBSE CLUSTER MEET- 2011: The students of C.S.T. Dalhousie participated in the CBSE cluster meet held at Chandigarh from October 14 to 17, 2011 at junior and senior levels. The students of C.S.T Dalhousie participated in Discuss Throw, Shot-put, Javelin Throw and sprint and won FIVE GOLD MEDALS, ONE Silver and ONE Bronze in various competitions held during the meet.
NORTH ZONE CULTURAL MEET- 2011: The north zone cultural meet- 2011 was organized by CTSA at Zonal Level at CST Dalhousie from September 16 to 17, 2011 for the CTSA schools situated in North and CST Dalhousie was declared to be the first among the participating schools.
NEW ACADEMIC PROJECTS: Some new academic projects such as English fluent reading skill sessions, Basic skills of Maths for Class VI & VII students, creative writing for VI to X students especially for those from the Himalayan region have been started for the academic development of students. In addition to this, special Tibetan classes for the students of Himalayan region are also being organized every day during evening hours to help students concentrate on their studies. A separate arrangement for class- XII students has also been made for their academic development.
In conclusion, CST Dalhousie has been running smoothly with the co-operation of all students and staff members, and the support of the community. We, as a motivated team, are committed to transforming CST Dalhousie into a model school with a difference. Every effort on the part of staff and administration is being made to achieve 100% result in all classes to achieve as well as go beyond the expectation of C.T.S.A and other stakeholders.
